POWRi double highlights Independence Day weekend agenda
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
ODESSA, Mo. (July 1, 2024) – It was a stout week in the Show-Me State for Xavier Doney, Natalie Doney, and Doney-Lawson Racing, and despite the fierce competition, their performances were powerful, highlighting all outcomes with a top-ten accomplished by Natalie in a 305ci sprint car start at Double-X Speedway in California, Missouri, on Sunday, June 30.
Natalie, who finished sixth in the $1,200-to-win 305 staple, is certainly no stranger to rock-solid performances in her home state of Missouri, earning three top-tens during the month of June alone including a fourth-place result at Nevada Speedway on Saturday, June 15.
Xavier Doney, ace of the Doney-Lawson Racing, Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, Design Source Flooring, No. 74 sprint car, may have missed the top-ten in his recent week of competition, but the overall outcome was just as impressive, concluding Lucas Oil Speedway’s High Limit Racing Diamond Classic preliminary with a 16th-place score on Friday, June 28.
Competing with some of the best open wheel aces in the country including James McFadden, Brad Sweet, and eventual winner, Tyler Courtney, Doney started tenth on the evening’s A-Main grid, securing his place within the Diamond Classic main event with a runner-up finish during heat race competition.
Xavier’s Lucas Oil Speedway conclusion was his best of the week, ending Lake Ozark Speedway’s annual Beach Brawl, also featuring the High Limit Racing “High Rollers,” with a B-Main appearance on Wednesday, June 26; he advanced two positions from ninth to finish seventh.
