By Fully Injected Motorsports:
KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 8, 2024) – Not so often the case, Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) were one spot from victory in Saturday night’s Nolan Wren Memorial at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, losing command to eventual winner, Scott Bogucki, with less than two circuits remaining.
Reutzel, a seven-time winner on the season including four within the 360 ranks at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, led laps five through 18 before giving up the top spot, setting up his eventual podium run from fourth on the A-Main grid. It was heavy lapped traffic that kept Reutzel from attaining his eighth triumph of the season, forced to check up allowing Bogucki to slip by.
Nearly a double top-five night at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, the Clute, Texas, native was well on his way to a podium outcome in Saturday’s 360 sprint car portion of the program, that until contact with a lapped car with eight-to-go stalled his momentum; he was scored 21st.
Consistency a key factor, Aaron Reutzel and RSR remain in control of the 410 sprint car standings at Knoxville Raceway, leading Austin McCarl by 22 markers heading into the Marion County Fair.
