GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (August 12, 2024) –  Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing put it all together in their 2024 Knoxville Nationals effort, not only qualifying for Saturday’s coveted 50-lap program featuring the world’s most talented open wheel aces, but racing on to secure a top-ten outcome – sixth at the final checkers after starting one position worse.

Brown, who secured a top-ten finish in Thursday’s preliminary main event to “lock in,” used his Knoxville Nationals success to attain the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” Award; a $6,500 prize. Given annually, the Mr. Sprint Car achievement is awarded to the driver who accumulates the most points during all of Iowa’s prestigious events; 360 Knoxville Nationals, Capitani Classic, Front Row Challenge, and Knoxville Nationals.

“A solid week for our Casey’s | FVP team. Didn’t draw the best number in our preliminary night on Thursday, but to go out late and still record the fourth-fastest time says so much about our program. That set the tone for our entire week,” Brown, ace of the Brian Brown Racing, Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, Ditzfeld Transfer, Hawk Hunting, No. 21 sprint car, said. “We struggled a tad in our preliminary feature on Thursday…just kinda overcompensated from Sunday night and really couldn’t’ get going. We decided to go back to our old notes and return to the basics for Saturday’s 50-lapper. It ended up working out…hot lapped well and the first 25 laps were really solid, as well. I don’t think the break at halfway really helped us much because I thought we were good enough to pass a few more cars.

“Regardless, just a solid 50 laps. Very, very proud of our team, as well as all of our partners. Ten days can make for a long stretch, especially at that level. Everyone faced off well against adversity and never quit working. In the end, we were the most consistent car in winning the Mr. Sprint Car Award, so that should say enough right there.”
