SANDUSKY, Ohio (September 9, 2024) – The coveted Jim Ford Classic at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, is set to takeover facility headlines this Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, and for Sandusky’s Chris Andrews, it’s a chance to not only pad the stat card, but add to the history books, chasing the $20,000 top prize up for grabs in the two-day finale. The event, celebrating 17 years in 2024, will be the richest in Fremont’s history, boasting double features on Friday (one of which the Ohio Sprint Speedweek make-up that Andrews will not participate in) and the aforementioned $20,000-to-win main event to conclude the weekend on Saturday.
Friday’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek make-up feature will award $10,000-to-win with the regularly scheduled Jim Ford Classic preliminary awarding $5,000-to-win – sanctioned by FAST On Dirt.
Andrews, ace of his own Ohio Truck Sales, OTS Truck Centers, Fleet Capital, Cintas, Kenworth of Cleveland, Toledo Spring, NAPA Fremont Auto Parts, No. 15C sprint car, will roll into the weekend on the coattails of a recent top-ten at “The Track That Action Built,” finishing eighth on September 7.
“It’s a great weekend at Fremont Speedway. It’s an event we always look forward to so I’m excited to get back and be a part of it,” Andrews expressed. “We put together some solid laps there last weekend, so we hope to transfer that momentum into the Jim Ford Classic weekend.”
