Schatz persistent in Knoxville visit; Jacksonville and Tri-State next on Outlaws agenda

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 21, 2025) – It was a tough outing in Knoxville for Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, and although the team was forced to utilize a provisional starting position to qualify for Saturday’s World of Outlaws Premier Chevy Dealers Clash, they exercised adaptability and persistence, eventually concluding the 25-lap, $12,000-to-win main event with a 17th-place score after starting 28th.
A disappointing qualifying result was a major catalyst in Schatz’ rough start in Knoxville, eventually forced into the evening’s C-Main before transferring into the Last Chance Showdown. Although the ten-time World of Outlaws champion and Fargo, North Dakota, native was unable to make progress in the LCS, a provisional was granted allowing Schatz to take up the aforementioned 28th starting position.
Despite a tough evening, Schatz remains sixth in the World of Outlaws championship standings, trailing current leader and defending champion, David Gravel, by 234 markers. Schatz owns ten top-tens in 16 feature appearances, two of which within the top-five.

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2025 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with back-to-back starts at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Illinois, and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday, April 25-26.
