Doney-Lawson Racing with big moves at Macon; All eyes on Knoxville Raceway

ODESSA, Mo. (July 28, 2025) – Despite Mother Nature erasing all hope for a two-race weekend, knocking out POWRi’s visit to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on Friday, July 25, Doney-Lawson Racing (DLR) and the Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars did their best to stay focused, continuing their 2025 campaign with a one night stay at Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, on Saturday, July 26. The brother/sister duo out of Odessa, Missouri, put on a fantastic display in the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League program, racking up stats that not only included the evening’s fastest qualifying time, but eventually the Hard Charger Award. 

Xavier Doney, the oldest of the Doney siblings and ace of the Design Source Flooring, Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, MVP Logistics, T&T Equine, Prime Composite, Steve & Mandy Griffin Family, JDLawsonMedia, Stanton Racing Engines, No. 74 sprinter, earned the aforementioned Start2Finish TV Quick Qualifying Award, racing on to finish fifth in his respective heat race. Unfortunately, incidental contact in the evening’s 30-lap main event left the young man stranded, as there was no work area to make repairs. 

Natalie Doney, Xavier’s youngster sister and a POWRi Rookie of the Year contender, helped steer the attention away from Xavier’s misfortune by racing on to finish just shy of the top-ten. The 16-year-old, powering through her first, full year in a 410ci sprinter, eventually secured the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing 11 positions; she raced from 22nd to 11th. 

Xavier Doney, Natalie Doney, Doney-Lawson Racing, and the Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars will now look ahead, setting aim on the Granddaddy Of Them All – Knoxville Raceway’s 64th Knoxville Nationals. Action will launch Wednesday, August 6, and conclude Saturday, August 9, awarding $195,000-to-win in the weekend finale.
