PERFECT ENDING: Xavier Doney earns POWRi triumph at Missouri State Fair to conclude Kansas/Missouri tripleheader

ODESSA, Mo. (August 18, 2025) – It was the perfect ending to a near-perfect weekend for Xavier Doney, Doney-Lawson Racing (DLR), and the Schnee-Lawson Chassis House Cars, as the young man out of Odessa, Missouri, achieved three straight top-five finishes – and a victory to boot – during POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League action across Kansas and Missouri. Doney, who is now third in the POWRi 410 championship standings, earned the aforementioned victory on Sunday, August 17, at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Missouri – his first triumph of the season and doing so from fifth on the grid.
As noted, Doney’s $5,000 Missouri State Fair triumph capped an incredible weekend effort for the 19-year-old, opening action with a fourth-place outcome at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, on Friday, August 15, followed by a third-place finish at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, on Saturday, August 16. In addition, the ace of the Design Source Flooring, Schnee-Lawson Chassis, Motor Haven, MVP Logistics, T&T Equine, Prime Composite, Steve & Mandy Griffin Family, JDLawsonMedia, Stanton Racing Engines, No. 74 sprinter set the fastest qualifying time at Lucas Oil.
Although shy of her brother’s achievements, 16-year-old Natalie Doney, a Rookie of the Year contender with POWRi, padded the DLR stat book with three straight feature appearances of her own, finishing 17th, 18th, and 18th, respectively, while advancing five positions on Saturday. The young lady out of Odessa has one POWRi top-ten to her credit and is currently 12th in the championship standings.
ON DECK:
Xavier Doney, Natalie Doney, and Doney-Lawson Racing will resume their 2025 campaign with a return visit to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, August 23. The start will be a first-ever for Natalie Doney.
