Pittsburgh, PA (April 8th, 2014) – Danny Holtgraver and Hunter Racing will return to sprint car competition this upcoming Friday and Saturday, April 11th & 12th; this time throughout the heartland of Central Pennsylvania. Holtgraver, who pilots the Hunter Racing, Berlin Natural Bakery, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, Alternative Power Sources, WestView Motors, DKW Transport, no. 10H ‘410’ sprint car, will make the four-hour tow east to the Williams Grove and Port Royal Speedway’s this Friday and Saturday; anxious to do battle with some of the nation’s finest ‘local’ race teams. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native will spend the upcoming weekend racing with the ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ as a warmup for the fast-approaching UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ late-April swing through Central PA. The UNOH All Stars will be visiting the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, April 25th; followed by a visit to the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 26th. Holtgraver is a full-time traveler with ‘America’s Series’ once again 2014.

“We have a few weeks off until our next All Star race so it was in our best interest to travel out east and get some laps” explained Danny Holtgraver, “The PA Posse are the best local competition in the country…every time we go there we learn something from those guys…we visit Williams Grove and Port Royal at the end of the month with the All Stars so I felt it was the right move to go out there before then and get some laps…hopefully our trip to Central PA this weekend allows us to gain a little bit of knowledge and momentum for when we return on the 25th and 26th.”

Up first on the weekend agenda for Danny Holtgraver is a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, April 11th. A ‘regular’ show will be featured at the Mechanicsburg half-mile dirt oval; complete with a full program of ‘410’ and ‘358’ sprint car competition. The second half of the upcoming weekend will consist of a visit to the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 12th. The trip to Port Royal will help Danny Holtgraver and Hunter Racing get ‘dialed-in’ for the upcoming $10,000-to-win/$500-to-start ‘Bob Weikert Memorial’ on April 26th sanctioned by the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions. Holtgraver is a former ‘Bob Weikert Memorial’ runner-up and always looks forward to returning to the Juniata County Fairgrounds half-mile.

“I really enjoy going to Port Royal…it’s a big half-mile and we always seem to do pretty well there” said Holtgraver, “Everything seems to be clicking pretty well with this team so hopefully that keeps up…I can’t thank Rob Hunter enough for what he has done for me…everyone involved works really hard…hopefully I can return the favor this weekend and find victory lane.”

During recent sprint car competition, Danny Holtgraver earned a top-five finish at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Saturday evening, April 5th. The former Lernerville Speedway sprint car track champion earned the top-five performance during the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ sanctioned ‘Spring Nationals.’ Holtgraver finished 4th, officially, at the conclusion of the 40-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. Dale Blaney, now a 100-time feature winner with the UNOH All Stars, was the $10,000 ‘Spring Nationals’ champion. Danny Holtgraver was a three-time UNOH All Star winner in 2013; finishing third in the final UNOH All Star ‘National’ standings.

“We had a solid night at Attica last Saturday…we were pretty happy” said Holtgraver, “Things went right all night long…we put ourselves in good position all night long and that allowed for a solid finish…to get a top-five at Attica during an All Star program really says something about the effort behind this Hunter Racing team…I can’t thank everyone enough…it’s going to be a great year.”
