KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 22, 2024) – Although making a midweek trek to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, visiting Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, for High Limit Racing’s Double Down Duels and Joker’s Jackpot, “A-Aron” Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) eventually made their way back to Knoxville Raceway, doubling up in their Saturday night efforts with action in the 360 and 410 divisions.

When the dust finally settled at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Reutzel, ace of the Folkens Brothers Trucking, Don Long & STC, B And L Holdings, American Table, No. 87 sprint car, was right back on top of the podium, outdueling Austin McCarl in the 410 main event to secure his second division win of the season – the 11th of his career. The Clute, Texas, native started third on the main event grid, taking command officially in turn two on lap 12. He kicked off his 410 effort with the fastest time in qualifying.

Ultimately working toward an evening sweep, Reutzel was in contention during the 360 main event, as well, that until a nowhere-to-go situation ended his feature campaign. Up until that point, Reutzel’s 360 effort was flawless, earning the evening’s fastest qualifying time before winning his respective heat race.

“The car was great,” Reutzel said in Knoxville Victory Lane. “The open red helped us. I knew (Austin) wasn’t going to get off the bottom. We changed gears there, and tried to get up there and make speed. It played out good. I was really good on the short run, and I started struggling as soon as I got by him. I got the wing back and made it better. We’ve been so close to winning in the 410, and I keep giving them away. I’m glad to finally get a win in the 410 again.”

As noted, Reutzel and RSR opened their week with action at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, highlighting their two-day agenda with an 11th-place score on Wednesday, July 17. The Knoxville, Iowa-based team qualified for the $100,000-to-win Joker’s Jackpot on Thursday, July 18; they were scored 22nd.
