KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 17, 2024) – It was a slow start to the weekend for Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR), and despite opening their two-day World of Outlaws campaign at Knoxville Raceway with a spin while battling for a frontrunning position, the Clute, Texas, native rebounded big, concluding the Knoxville Nationals precursor with a top-ten on Saturday, June 15.
Reutzel, ace of Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Folkens Brothers Trucking, Don Long & STC, B And L Holdings, No. 87 sprinter, finished tenth in his Saturday night top-ten, rallying from deep within the field to do so. In fact, “A-Aron” started 23rd on the A-Main lineup, concluding the 25-lap contest with the evening’s Hard Charger Award for advancing the most feature positions. Reutzel earned his way into the weekend finale via third-place finish in the Last Chance Showdown – he did not transfer through his respective heat race.
As noted, it was an early race hiccup that put Reutzel out of winning contention on Friday, June 14; he eventually crossed the line 16th.
ON DECK:
Tentatively, Ridge & Sons Racing and Aaron Reutzel [No. 87] will continue their 2024 campaign with four nights at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, beginning with the $100,000-to-win High Bank Hustle on Wednesday and Thursday, June 19-20. The four-day weekend will conclude with the $250,000-to-win High Bank Nationals on Friday and Saturday, June 21-22.

Won 360 Sprint Car main event at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, May 11. Finished 3rd in 410 Sprint Car main event at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, May 11. Earned POWRi Outlaw 410 victory at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa, on Friday, May 17. Finished second at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, May 18. Earned victory (360) and runner-up finish (410) at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday, May 25. Finished second during 360 competition at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, May 31.
