Hermitage, PA (11-12-2012) – Hermitage, Pennsylvania native and third generation sprint car pilot, Adam Kekich, wrapped up his 2012 racing season just a few short weeks ago. The young man out of Mercer County in Western Pennsylvania had a career season during his most recent racing campaign; traveling to a handful of competitive dirt ovals, while also earning his first win in ‘410’ sprint car competition. Kekich, who races for his father and former sprint car competitor, Mike Kekich, earned his first career main event win at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; an oval that the Kekich Racing team can basically call ‘home.’ For a second consecutive season, the Kekich Racing ‘5K’ program found themselves inside the top ten (10) of the final Mercer Raceway Park ‘410’ sprint car point standings; overcoming a large deficit and ending the 2012 season 6th in the chase. The team ended their 2011 season 4th in the final standings.

“I am very pleased with how 2012 turned out!” explained Kekich, “We got all of our cars figured out with the help of Brian Kemenah…once we got comfortable with the cars, we were able to relax a little bit more and just focus on racing…we learned so much this year and getting to travel to different tracks really helped with my confidence and overall knowledge…I just can’t thank everybody enough who is involved with this team…especially my Dad…everybody works so hard!”

The season proved to be extra-special on Saturday evening, July 21st; as Adam Kekich was able to park his Kekich Racing/Warren Harley Davidson/Sunburst Environmental Service/Carpenters Towing ‘5K’ in victory lane. The win came over a healthy field of talent at Mercer Raceway Park; as the former Limited Sprint Car competitor was forced to hold back charges from fellow Western Pennsylvania rising star, Brandon Matus, and regional stand-out, Jack Sodeman. Other 2012 season highlights included a great deal of traveling for the ‘5K’ program; while also occasionally racing with the All-Star Circuit of Champions. Kekich earned a starting position in two (2) All-Star Circuit of Champions’ main events at Mercer Raceway Park in 2012; finishing 21st and 17th, respectively, against the national travelers.

“We learn a lot when racing against guys like the All-Stars.” said Kekich, “I learn a lot racing with those guys and it really boosts my confidence level…being able to earn starting positions in their main events is a great feeling…you watch these guys race growing up and you think to yourself ‘I want to race with these guys’…and then when it actually happens- it’s just a huge rush!”

As far as 2013 is concerned, only time will tell. No official plans have been released concerning Adam Kekich and the upcoming season. For now, Adam and his ‘5K’ team will prepare for next year in their Hermitage, Pennsylvania shop; a place where motivation and hard work never ends, and where there is no ‘off-season.’

“I want to thank so many people…Warren Harley Davidson, Sunburst Environmental Services, Carpenters Towing, Tight Seal Glass Block, Hanson’s Meats, Designing Women Hairstyle, Agway, Advanced Auto Body, Kriner’s Racing Engines, K1 Race Gear, Royal Purple, K&N, FullyInjected.com…Also want to thank my Dad, Ian, JC, Mike, Freebird, Mom, and Sue…without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I love to do the most!”
