Adam Kekich with Big Plans and Big Potential for 2013

Hermitage, PA (March 7th, 2013) – Western Pennsylvania native and third generation sprint car driver, Adam Kekich, has plans to be a regional ‘410’ contender during the 2013 season; traveling throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas in search of seat time, track experience, and most importantly; more marks in the win column. The Hermitage, Pennsylvania resident has been hard at work during the recent off-season; and feels that with the right amount of financial backing, the Kekich Racing ‘5K’ operation could be an UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions – Ohio Region traveling force. Kekich has spent the past few racing seasons focusing on ‘410’ sprint car competition at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania, and would now like to extend his horizons and race ‘full-time’ on the road.
“We have been hard at work this off-season” explained Adam Kekich, “I have been working out a lot trying to prepare myself physically, as well as staying busy in the shop…our goal as a team is to hit the road…that is going to depend on our financial situation, obviously…we have a lot of great help and a lot of great sponsors and supporters already…we are just still a little shy of where we need to be…I just can’t thank everyone involved enough; especially my father who has given me such a great opportunity to do what I love…it’s going to be a long, fun season in 2013!”
The Sunburst Environmental, Warren Harley Davidson, Hermitage Agway, Kriners Racing Engines, ‘5K’ team will also spend a great amount of time ‘close to home’ during their 2013 campaign. When not on the road racing regionally, Adam Kekich will be back in Western Pennsylvania competing at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania; and the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The former limited sprint car competitor will also make select appearances at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio during the upcoming season. Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park each offer ‘410’ sprint car competition on a weekly basis in Western Pennsylvania; while Hartford, Ohio’s Sharon Speedway will only host the ‘410’ sprinters on a few occasions. Kekich has one career ‘410’ sprint car victory; that being at the Mercer Raceway Park.

“We will be around home a lot this summer, too” said Kekich, “We plan to be at Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park a lot when we are not racing elsewhere…they are great facilities and we enjoy going there…without the huge help from my family and crew, there would be no season…my buddy Ian Wingard has been busting his butt the past few days getting this car together for the upcoming Shenango Valley Mall show…Mike and Freebird have also put in countless hours at the shop and racetrack…they make my season possible!”

The annual Mercer Raceway Park car show will be conducted during those dates inside the Shenango Valley Mall; with many of the speedway’s regulars, including Adam Kekich, planning to have their cars on display.
