Corey McPherson wins a thriller as Fosnaught and Kelley tangle late
Sarver, PA (June 5, 2015) Mother Nature threatened to steal a second straight night of Fab4 Fueled by Turner’s, but relented to provide a lightning fast race track as 400+ employees of Peoples TWP/Natural Gas and their families helped packed the stands. After a bittersweet string of second place finishes, AJ Flick finally found his way back to Victory Lane for his first Peoples TWP Sprint win; after having won multiple races in the Sportsman/Stock division. Brian Swartzlander scored his 89th career Diehl Mods feature win with a crowd pleasing, late race pass of Rex King Jr. The excitement continued in the Precise Late Models as Michael Norris picked up his first win of the season after holding off the furious charges of Alex Ferree and Jared Miley. Peoples TWP Night came to a dramatic close as People’s Natural Gas employee and sponsored driver Jim Fosnaught came up short in his bid to repeat last year’s Peoples TWP Night win after he tangled with Joe Kelley in turn four late in the race. Corey McPherson was already charging hard around the top of turns three and four and pulled away following their contact to score his fourth feature win of the season and 22nd of his career; tying him for fourth all time in the Sportsman/Stocks with Butch Lambert.
