YORK, Pa. (June 13, 2016) – For the first time in 2016, Alyson Dietz will make a start during 358 sprint car competition, ready to tackle the historic Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday night, June 17. Dietz will pilot the Troy Godfrey-owned, Godfrey Racing Engines, No. 5 on Friday evening, aiming to score a respectable finish against a solid field of Central Pennsylvania 358 sprint car competitors.

“This is really exciting,” said Alyson Dietz. “It took some time to get everything together, but we’re ready now. I can’t thank Troy Godfrey enough for this opportunity. We were putting a different car together, but Troy decided to allow us to race his car. It will take a little bit of time to feel out the car and adjust it to where it needs to be, but I’m not concerned. It’s going to be a great experience.”

Alyson Dietz, sister of Central Pennsylvania 410 racer Chase Dietz, is a recent graduate of the 600cc micro sprint division, spending the last few seasons entering competition at various ovals throughout Central Pennsylvania. If all goes according to plan during the next few seasons, Alyson Dietz will climb through the open wheel ranks, ultimately finding her place in a 410 sprint car.

“Racing is a huge part of my life. Most of my family is involved one way or another,” said Alyson Dietz. “My brother and uncle (Cory Haas) each climbed their way through the 358 division and I intend to do the same thing. I can’t thank everyone enough for their help. This is an exciting step for me. Friday can’t come soon enough.”
