Arctic Cat All Stars Set for Florida Invasion

INDIANAPOLIS (February 2, 2016) – The stars and cars of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will hit the dirt for the first time in 2016 on Friday evening, February 5, in sunny north central Florida. The traveling Arctic Cat All Stars will compete in a total of four events during their Florida venture, co-headlining such programs as the 5th annual Bubba Army Winter Nationals and the 45th annual DIRTcar Nationals.

After an open practice date on Thursday, February 4, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, led by six-time and defending series champion Dale Blaney, will officially launch their 2016 campaign with back-to-back programs on Friday and Saturday, February 5-6, at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. Race teams will attempt to not only capture the $5,000 top prize being awarded each night, but also work to end Kerry Madsen’s winning streak at the Ocala oval. The “Madman” swept All Star Circuit of Champions competition during the Bubba Army Winter Nationals in 2015.

The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will continue their tour through the “Sunshine State” less than a week later at the Volusia Speedway Park near Barberville, Florida. Similar to their Ocala visit, teams will participate in an open practice on Tuesday evening, February 9, followed by two consecutive nights of DIRTcar Nationals competition on Wednesday and Thursday, February 10-11. The Arctic Cat All Star doubleheader will kick-off a five-day stretch of 410 sprint car action during the DIRTcar Nationals, with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars headlining the last three events on February 12-14. Greg Hodnett and Daryn Pittman earned All Star victories during the 2015 edition of the DIRTcar Nationals.

“We are all pretty excited to get the season started in a few days,” said Don Grabey, Series Director of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.  “With the snow and cold weather up north, there’s no better cure than Florida in February for sprint car teams and fans.”

About the All Star Circuit of Champions:

All Star Enterprises, LLC, wholly owned by Tony Stewart, d/b/a the All Star Circuit of Champions, is a winged sprint car series. The All-Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series is one of the oldest traveling 410 sprint car organizations and is a staple of grassroots, open-wheel racing.  Formed in 1970 by Bud Miller, the series has largely been considered the first ‘outlaw’ Sprint Car organization of the modern era. After a 10 year stint as owner of the All Stars, Miller passed control of the series to Bert Emick in 1980; a reign that would continue through 2002. Guy Webb then purchased the series from Emick in the summer of 2002 and served as the series President for the next 12 years.  Motorsports entrepreneur Tony Stewart agreed to terms with Guy Webb to become the sole owner of the original winged sprint car tour in January of 2015.
