Armstrong hard charges at Eldora for 4-Crown Nationals top-ten
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
NEW CASTLE, IN (September 25, 2017) – Not deterred by a rough start, New Castle, Indiana’s Caleb Armstrong put on a passing clinic during the 36th running of the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway on Saturday, charging from the outside of row eleven to finish ninth during the 25-lap, $5,000-to-win, Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions main event. The top-ten performance was Armstrong’s 18th of the 2017 season during Arctic Cat All Star competition, also earning the MSD Performance Hard Charger Award.
The pilot of the Baker Crop Insurance/Neal Metal Recycling/Armstrong Farms/No. 7C had to do things the hard way during his visit to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track. After missing a transfer spot during the third of four heat races, Armstrong was forced to compete in the consolation B-main where he finished second. The top-four finishers qualified for the evening’s 4-Crown Nationals main event.
“I guess that wasn’t how we wanted to start the night, but it worked out in the end,” Armstrong stated. “I was able to maneuver really well and get by some cars. Anytime you can advance that far through a field says a lot about your program and your potential. We’ll be back to Eldora in a few weeks, so hopefully we can start a little closer toward the front.”
Caleb Armstrong will not continue his 2017 Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions campaign until Saturday, October 7, when the Series visits Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, for the fifth and final time this season. Armstrong will enter the event third in the Arctic Cat All Star driver championship.
