Atomic’s Buckeye Spring 50 will increase purse with 75 entries
CHILLICOTHE, OH (February 23, 2017) – In less than a month, the nation’s top-talented super late model stars will invade Chillicothe, Ohio’s Atomic Speedway, set to battle head-to-head with a tough, regional contingent of super late model competition, as well as Atomic Speedway’s finest. Officially dubbed as the Third Annual Buckeye Spring 50, the Atomic Speedway season opener will award a minimum of $10,000 on Friday evening, March 17, but carries the potential to award even more if the super late model car count exceeds 75.
“To kick off the year with a major Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event like this is really special,” Brad McCown explained, promoter of Atomic Speedway. “With that said, we would like to do something even more for the drivers that plan to make the trip to Atomic Speedway on March 17. If the total car count reaches a minimum of 75, we will bump the purse from $10,000-to-win to $12,000-to-win, as well as guarantee $1,000 to each main event starter. We want this event to be massive; give the fans something to talk about for a long time.”
The Third Annual Buckeye Spring 50 featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will ignite with warm-ups at 6:00pm on Friday, March, 17, followed by qualifying time trials, heat race competition, and main events. The AMRA Modifieds will also be on the evening card competing for a $1,000 top prize. Pit gates are scheduled to open at 12:00pm, with general admission gates swinging open at 4:00pm.
