BACK ON TRACK: TKS Motorsports with big runs in Jackson and Knoxville appearances; Back to the Sprint Car Capital July 19

MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (July 14, 2025) – Despite their weekend getting cut from three starts to two, losing Thursday’s World of Outlaws event in Spring Valley, Minnesota, to Mother Nature, it was a productive weekend in the Midwest for TKS Motorsports and Ian Madsen, eventually closing out their campaign with not only a pair of finishes equaling no worse than 11th, but earning a top-five in the process – the team’s third of the 2025 season.
For TKS Motorsports, the two-race weekend proved vital in their mid-summer stretch, acting as an epic momentum shift and confidence booster, and just in time for Knoxville Raceway’s largest events of the season.
“It was a solid weekend for our team and I’m proud of everyone involved. All it takes is one turnaround and the confidence can lift greatly,” Troy Renfro explained. “We don’t have a lot of time before the Nationals at Knoxville Raceway, so our main focus is going to be on nailing down where we need to be. It’s really hard to believe we’re already at that point of the season. Regardless, we’re all excited.”
As hinted, Madsen, ace of Troy and Tammy Renfro’s Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, Webb Family Farms, Landus, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, AL Driveline, Justice Brothers, Serenity Custom Woodworking, No. 2KS sprint car, finished second and 11th in his recent weekend sweep, earning the runner-up result at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, on Friday, July 11, and the latter result at Knoxville Raceway. The Australian and former Outlaw full-timer led the first five circuits at Jackson before Ryan Timms gained control. Madsen attempted to regain the lead immediately, but Timms ran away.
