ASCS ‘360’ Action at ‘BRP’ Ends Florida Stretch

Ocala, FL (February 26th, 2015) – Danny Holtgraver will wrap up his 2015 Florida ‘speedweeks’ campaign with one more weekend of competition. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native will return to the Bubba Raceway Park near Ocala, Florida this Friday and Saturday, February 27th & 28th; rejoining the ASCS ‘360’ National Tour for two more nights of sprint car competition. Holtgraver kicked-off his Florida venture with a visit to the Bubba Raceway Park during the first weekend of February. The pilot of the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, Alternative Power Sources, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Florida, Southern Pacific Farms, no. 59 sprint car earned three consecutive top-ten finishes during his first visit, and hopes to duplicate that performance this weekend.
“We had a pretty good weekend during our last visit to Bubba Raceway Park so hopefully we can use our notes and do it again” said Holtgraver, “We didn’t finish any worse than seventh at ‘BRP’ with the All Stars…it was a great way to start the month…overall, it has been pretty up and down so far…this team works hard and always stays confident…Bonzai Bruns does a great job keeping this car race-ready…I can’t thank Tom and Sherry Leidig enough for allowing me to drive their car…it’s an opportunity of a lifetime for sure and I am more than happy to be a part of it…hopefully we can end our Florida trip with a few solid finishes.”
Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing last joined the ASCS National Tour on February 19th-21st at the East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida for the ‘Ronald Laney Memorial.’ Despite suffering from ignition issues during the Thursday night preliminary program, Danny Holtgraver would rebound respectively and earn a fifteenth place performance during the Friday night preliminary A-main. The former Lernerville Speedway track champion ended his ‘Ronald Laney Memorial-King of the 360’s’ weekend with a ninth place finish during B-main action on the final night of competition. There were over 60 ‘360’ sprint cars entered at East Bay Raceway Park.
“Having those ignition problems on Thursday night really hurt our weekend at East Bay.” explained Holtgraver, “You earn points the entire weekend so every night counts…sometimes things happen that you can’t control, so we’ll move on and see what we can do this weekend…I really like Bubba Raceway Park…I’ve always ran well there…we’ll try to end our month of February with a win.”
