Allison Park, PA (April 16th, 2014) – After earning his first top-ten finish of the 2014 season last Saturday evening, April 12th at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; Allison Park, Pennsylvania native, Colton Flinner, will make his return to ‘Dirt’s Monster Half Mile’ this Saturday, April 19th for another round of weekly super late model competition. Flinner, who pilots the Craiger Race Engines, American Framers, VOX Energy, A.W. Beattie Career Center, Bellisarios Lounge, Randig Towing, no. 75 super late model, finished ninth (9th) last Saturday during main event action at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; equalling Flinner’s highest result behind the wheel of a super late model. The nineteen-year-old will return to the big half mile on April 19th with the ability and confidence needed to repeat opening night success.
“We were pretty happy this weekend…feels good to get our first top-ten!” said Colton Flinner, “We are heading back to Pittsburgh this weekend with a lot more confidence…this team works really hard…I know we have the ability to get up front…we learned a lot on Saturday so hopefully we can use that to our advantage… I just can’t thank everyone enough…there is a lot of effort put into this race team…without all of their help and support, racing super late models would not be a possibility!”
Colton Flinner will enter Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway gates this Saturday evening currently tied for eighth (8th) in the updated super late model championship standings. The former FASTRAK Touring Series main event winner is certainly no stranger to Pittsburgh’s half mile; earning back-to-back crate late model track championships before making the jump to super late model competition full-time.
The ¾ scale late models will also be on the card this Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway; giving Colton Flinner the opportunity to pull a ‘double-duty’ on Saturday night. Flinner will pilot his super late model and ¾ scale late model during the ‘Action Event’ program.
