Barnyard Buddies Return
As PPMS Hosts
Five Division Action Event

PITTSBURGH, PA — Exciting racing action at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway continues on Saturday, July 27th as we present another five division Action Event featuring the Diehl of Robinson Super Late Models, the Precise Racing Products RUSH Pro-Late Models, Sunoco Race Fuels Late Model Sportsman, Miley BP Carwash Hobby Stocks and the Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns. In addition, the Barnyard Petting Zoo will return for their annual visit. Be sure to bring the kids early as the chickens, goats and other animals will be on hand to greet the children; and don’t forget that Pony Rides will also be available.

“We are looking forward to providing the young race fans with some pre-race entertainment as they enjoy the barnyard animals that will be in attendance this Saturday,” commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley. “This is an excellent opportunity for some non-race fans to stop by the petting zoo and hopefully stay for the racing action. These youngsters are the race fans and drivers of the future and it is our goal to provide them with exciting short track racing action at an affordable price.”

Second generation driver Brandon Burgoon had been the bridesmaid on several occasions this season but last weekend he was finally able to enjoy “the thrill of victory” as he scored his first win of the season in Super Late Model action. The McDonald, PA resident’s evening got off to a rough start as a fuel pump problem relegated him to a seventh place finish in the heat event. The team was able to get the problem resolved and Burgoon masterfully worked his way from the 13th starting spot to the lead in just nine laps of the main event. It was definitely a well-deserved win for the team and they will definitely be looking for win number two this Saturday.

Alex Ferree may be the hottest driver on the Western PA circuit as he has picked up victories at both PPMS and Lernerville in recent weeks and is also expected to challenge for the top spot this Saturday. In addition, current divisional points leader Michael Norris will be looking for win number five on the year here at the “Monster Half Mile.”

The Precise Racing Products RUSH Pro-Late Models saw a familiar last name “Lukon” in the winner’s circle but it was not divisional points leader Kyle Lukon who was enjoying the spotlight but rather his older sister Laura. Ms. Lukon certainly showed the guys that fastest away around the speedway last Saturday night as she led the 20 lap feature event from start to finish and scored her first win since 2007. Join us this week to see if Laura can make it two in a row.
