CARLISLE, Pa. (October 2, 2023) – It was a sound weekend in the Keystone State for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, not only qualifying for each of Williams Grove Speedway’s 61st National Open programs, but ultimately highlighting their two-race campaign with an 11th-place score in the $75,000-to-win National Open finale. Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, started 15th on Saturday’s 40-lap grid, earning a spot in the prestigious program by finishing fourth during heat race competition.

Mother Nature had her time in the National Open limelight, as well, eventually forcing the postponement of Friday’s National Open preliminary feature until Saturday after the $75,000 finale; Bayston was scored 20th.

“In all, a decent weekend for our CJB Motorsports team. I think we wanted a little more out of our performances, but the guys never stopped working and they ultimately put us in contention for a top ten on Saturday night,” Lebanon, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston said. “We’re ready to get back to Port Royal Speedway. We’ve been successful at the ‘Speed Palace’ in the past, and I know we have the potential to repeat those successes. Our goal is to leave Pennsylvania with another victory.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a massive, three-day schedule at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace,” first joining the All Star Circuit of Champions for the $60,000-to-win Tuscarora 50 on Thursday, October 5, followed by the two-day World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series sanctioned Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7.
