CARLISLE, Pa. (April 18, 2022) – Once again, Mother Nature did her best to ruin the weekend for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, losing the first of two nights at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, due to unfavorable weather conditions. Despite the issues, the show went on as planned on Saturday, welcoming 37 entries for the highly anticipated return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to I-55.

An elbows-up evening in the Show-Me State for Bayston, forced to battle through tricky track conditions with ruts impacting much of turns one and two, the Lebanon, Indiana, native persevered, maintaining his place within the top-ten to finish eighth. Still chasing that first triumph of the season, the former Series winner and current World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender started fifth and battled within the top-five early before fading slightly, now with eight top-ten scores in his first 14 World of Outlaws starts.

“It feels good to secure another top-ten finish, even with track conditions making things really interesting. We actually packed a wheel and I had a vibration most of the race, but hats off to this entire team. I don’t think our results justify the amount of speed that we had, but we’ll take this and move forward,” Spencer Bayston explained, driver of the Signing Day Sports, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, The Dunn Group, Highlands’ Power Sports, High Performance Lubricants, No. 5 sprint car. “I’m confident that we have what it takes to be a frontrunner this weekend at Tri-City and Tri-State. Hopefully Mother Nature cuts us some slack and allows us to race a full weekend.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2022 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with an Illinois and Indiana doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, April 22-23. Bayston and the Greatest Show On Dirt will visit Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, on Friday, followed by a stop at the always exciting Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, on Saturday. Each event will award $10,000.
