CARLISLE, Pa. (October 9, 2023) – The team’s final weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country may have concluded shy of the pinnacle, but Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports found their share of shining moments, ultimately kicking-off their three-race swing at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” with an impressive 13-spot rally in the 56th annual Tuscarora 50 on Thursday, October 5.
Bayston, ace Chad Clemens’ TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, capped the prestigious 50-laper 11th in the running order, commencing action from 24th on the All Star Circuit of Champions starting grid. The Lebanon, Indiana, native was forced to start deep after failing to transfer through his respective heat race, eventually finding refuge in the Tuscarora 50 B-Main.
The former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year and recent Ironman 55 preliminary champion raced on to finish 15th and 19th in Port Royal’s two-day Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7.
“It was a trying weekend for our team. We had spurts of speed, but not where we needed it to create great starting spots in the features,” Bayston stated. “It’s really tough to contend for top five finishes when you start outside of the first few rows. Barry, Aydin, Erik and myself are working as hard as we can to find the consistent speed that this team is known to have. We don’t have a lot left on our 2023 schedule. We’re going to do what we can to end the year strong.”

Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a Kansas doubleheader, first stopping at 81 Speedway in Wichita on Friday, October 13, followed by a trip to Kansas City’s Lakeside Speedway for the Micro-Lite Harvest Rumble on Saturday, October 14.
