CARLISLE, Pa. (August 21, 2023) – The first two nights of Jackson Motorplex’ Jackson Nationals did not go as planned for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, but despite any frustration stemmed from a pair of poor outcomes, highlighting the preliminary duo with a 16th-place outcome on Thursday, August 17, the Lebanon, Indiana, native persevered and ultimately recovered in a big way, concluding the $25,000-to-win headliner with a top-ten score on Saturday, August 19.
Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, finished tenth in his top-ten appearance, rallying eight spots after starting from the outside of row nine. The former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year earned the evening’s Hard Charger Award in the process, secured by making the most feature forward progress.
“It was a frustrating week, but to recover like we did says so much about this team. They never stop working and that was proven on Saturday,” Bayston, the Ironman 55 preliminary night winner, said. “We’re going to shake this off and look ahead. The goal is to head into North Dakota with a fresh slate and work for big results.”

First up is the Gerdau presents the 2nd Leg of the Northern Tour at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, August 25. The next brings the Gerdau presents the Duel in the Dakotas at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday, August 26.
