Wampum, PA (May 28th, 2013) – After displaying some recent success in Western Pennsylvania behind the wheel of a non-wing ‘410’ sprint car, Wampum, Pennsylvania’s Brandon Matus will return to the seat of his familiar Sobczak Electric, Matus Service Center, Miller Masonry no. 13 ‘410’ sprint car for two consecutive nights of open wheel competition in the ‘Keystone State.’ The fourth generation sprint car driver will make appearances at the Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park this Friday and Saturday, May 31st & June 1st; with each program featuring a full card of ‘weekly’ action. Matus, who shares a racing stable with his father and longtime sprint car veteran, Brent Matus,  has yet to find victory lane in 2013, but will have two opportunities to do so this weekend.

With Lernerville Speedway ‘pulling the plug’ on their Friday evening, May 24th program due to inclement weather conditions, and Mercer Raceway Park not hosting regular ‘410’ sprint car action on Saturday, May 25th due to their previously scheduled Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (B.O.S.S.) event, Brandon Matus had no choice but to take off the wings, and participate in Mercer Raceway Park’s first and only B.O.S.S. non-wing sprint car event of the 2013 season. Matus would go on to prove to much of the racing world that his talent extends far beyond piloting ‘winged’ sprint cars. The former UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ feature event winner would finish fifth (5th) in Saturday night’s B.O.S.S. non-wing sprint car main event at ‘MRP.’ Brandon Spithaler, a fellow Western Pennsylvania native and full-time B.O.S.S. competitor in 2013, would earn the non-wing victory. The May 25th B.O.S.S. event was Brandon Matus’ first non-wing start of the 2013 season; but, plans to participate in other local B.O.S.S. events later this year.

Brandon Matus will be back behind the wheel of his ‘lucky no. 13’ this Friday and Saturday, May 31st & June 1st, for two ‘weekly’ sprint car events in Western Pennsylvania. The Matus Service Center ‘13’ team will first make a stop at the legendary Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 31st, for a ‘Fab Four’ program. Matus’ attention will then turn to competition at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 1st. The Mercer 3/8’s mile oval will host another edition of ‘Saturday Night Live!’ competition this weekend; with the ‘360’ Patriot Sprints also making an appearance.
