Wampum, Pennsylvania native, Brandon Matus, earned valuable experience last night at Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania’s Williams Grove Speedway. The seventeen-year-old, Fully Injected pilot, traveled to the famed half-mile for the Morgan Hughes National Open for the first time in his young career; expecting to gain valuable knowledge and necessary lap time in case of future visits to Posse territory.
Dealing with inexperience and slight nervousness, the Lernerville winner in 2011 would suffer from a disappointing lap time during qualifying time trials; putting the Matus Service Center, no. 13, in the eighteen second bracket and out of inversion contention. Even though the lap time would set the tone for the rest of the evening, the young man’s attitude and drive never slowed; allowing him to gain the experience he needed and hoped for. Matus’ night would end in the evening’s C-Main.
Stay tuned after tonight’s Morgan Hughes National Open finale!
