Evans City, PA (May 28th, 2013) – After suffering from a mixture of bad luck and mechanical misfortune on Friday evening, May 24th, during Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (B.O.S.S.) non-wing competition at the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, Brandon Spithaler would return to B.O.S.S. action on Saturday evening, May 25th, at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania and record his first non-wing victory of the 2013 season. Spithaler, who pilots the Tom Burkey owned Superior Tank & Trailer no. 57B sprint car during B.O.S.S. non-wing action, recorded the win on Saturday evening before a packed house, and a packed pit area. The victory marked a second consecutive year that Spithaler found B.O.S.S. victory lane at Mercer Raceway Park. The Evans City, Pennsylvania native, who follows the non-wing Buckeye Outlaw Sprints Series trail full-time in 2013, finds himself second (2nd) in the current B.O.S.S. series standings.

“It was an awesome weekend.” explained Brandon Spithaler, “Every time his Superior Tank & Trailer ‘57B’ hits the track, it’s fast…I think if we wouldn’t have had problems on Friday at Wayne County Speedway, we may have had something for Sheldon Haudenschild…It feels great to get a win at Mercer, though…it’s one of my home tracks and we had a lot of family and friends there…I just want to thank Superior Tank and Trailer, Tom Burkey, my Dad, Rusty McClure, and the entire crew…everyone works really hard to make all of this happen…I can’t wait until this weekend!”

Brandon Spithaler will put the wings back on for his upcoming schedule, and return to sprint car competition this Friday and Saturday, May 31st & June 1st, for two ‘weekly’ events at two very familiar Western Pennsylvania short tracks. Spithaler will pilot his Cycle Warehouse no. 22 ‘410’ sprinter at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 31st; before making the trip further north to the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 1st. Both events will be ‘weekly’ programs; and will offer full points towards their respective sprint car track championships. Spithaler will enter the weekend leading the current Lernerville Speedway ‘410’ sprint car driver standings.
