Brandon Spithaler was on his way to a nice payday last weekend at PPMS, but was halted early in his tracks due to tire issues. He will look for redemption this weekend at Lernerville Speedway – Rick Rarer Photo

Evan City, PA native, Brandon Spithaler, lead a large portion of last week’s sprint car feature at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway- before tire issues kept the young man from earning a $2,500 pay day. This weekend, the former limited sprint car winner, will look for ‘Goodyear’ redemption; as he will seek out the $3,000 top prize up for grabs at the “Steel City Stampede.”

The DIRTcar Round-Up ‘Steel City Stampede’ will shut the Lernerville Speedway doors for 2011. The last event on the facility’s schedule offers three days of action; including an open practice on Thursday, heat races on Friday, and main events on Saturday. Spithaler hopes to add his name to the win list, next to eight other division winners, at the conclusion of the weekend.

A 25 lap sprint car main event will highlight the weekend’s schedule; which also includes super late model and big block modified action.
