MYERSTOWN, Pa. (August 5, 2019) – A perfect momentum shift before Knoxville Nationals competition commences at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks put together a pair of stout performances during the recent weekend, highlighting his trio of starts with an impressive charge from 15th to finish eighth during Ironman preliminary competition at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Friday, August 2.

Although Marks fell one position shy of attaining back-to-back top-ten performances during his visit to Pevely, Missouri, the Myerstown, Pennsylvania-native and third-year Outlaw concluded Ironman Weekend with an 11th place run during the $20,000-to-win finale, eventually bumping ahead three spots after starting 14th on the grid.

In an attempt to gain valuable lap time before Knoxville Nationals action commences, Marks capped his three-race weekend with the annual Capitani Classic at Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 4. Although Marks missed the evening’s A-main, lap time was accumulated, giving Marks valuable insight before the Nationals.

“That was a fun weekend. I-55 is a tricky place to race but we enjoy visiting there. I think we were good enough to get back inside the top-ten on Saturday, but that’s how it goes sometimes,” Brent Marks said, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “The only thing we are worried about now is making the A-main on Saturday at Knoxville. That’s why we are here. I don’t think we’ll be satisfied unless that happens.”

Up next on the schedule, Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will return to the Sprint Car Capital of the World for the coveted Knoxville Nationals. The four-day program, which activates on Wednesday, August 7, will be headlined with a $150,000-to-win blockbuster on Saturday, August 10.

Before Nationals action begins, Brent Marks and his team may make the journey to Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa for the Front Row Challenge on Monday, August 5. The ‘One Night Stand For 20 Grand’ will award a $20,000 top prize.
