MYERSTOWN, Pa. (October 7, 2019) – Despite having to wait over a year to find his way back to World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory lane since his last appearance during a stop at Eldora Speedway on September 21, 2018, the ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks ended his victory drought in spectacular fashion, etching his name in sprint car racing record books firmly by winning the 2019 National Open at Williams Grove Speedway.

The largest paying program in Williams Grove history, the Myerstown, Pennsylvania-native collected $65,000 for his National Open triumph, also the largest payday of his career.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, earned his colossal victory from the outside of row one, jumping ahead of pole-sitter Brian Brown to lead the first two circuits. Although ‘Blackjack’ was able to battle back by the local Outlaw on lap three, Marks returned the favor on lap 13, sliding by Brown through turns one and two. From that point forward, it was all Brent Marks, even surviving a last lap caution that ultimately resulted in a green/white/checkered finish.

“I’m not so sure it even sunk in yet,” Brent Marks said. “This is unbelievable. I owe this all to my family, friends, crew, and of course, all of my great partners. I grew up in the Williams Grove Speedway infield, so to win this race really hits close to home. I really don’t know what to say.”

With little time to waste celebrating, Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will continue their 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a two-race stay in the Hoosier State, first visiting Terre Haute Action Track on Saturday, October 12, followed by a visit to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt on Sunday, October 13. Marks will enter the Indiana doubleheader tenth in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings padded by 21 top-ten finishes.
