Brent Marks earns top-ten finish at River Cities; South Dakota and Montana visits next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (August 20, 2018) – Although earning just one top-ten finish during his two-day stop in North Dakota, the weekend was a success for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series sophomore, Brent Marks.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, followed the Greatest Show On Dirt to River Cities Speedway and Red River Valley Speedway, respectively, during his two-day trek through North Dakota. Kicking-off the weekend on the higher note, Marks finished eighth at River Cities and 12th at Red River Valley, but passed 22 cars in the process, starting each main event from the inside of row 11.

In actuality, Marks’ Friday night charge at River Cities Speedway started at the tail, forced to go to the back of the field after being involved in an on-track incident on the opening circuit.

Although the passing display was impressive, the starting positions were not ideal, forced to transfer through each program’s Last Chance Showdown.

“It’s great to have the ability to be patient and pass a lot of race cars, but it’s not always ideal to have to start that far back,” Brent Marks explained, who owns two World of Outlaws victories in 2018. “I think the biggest thing for us is getting in a position to transfer through the heat races. Qualifying plays such a big role in these Outlaw races. Regardless, I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish this year. This has definitely been a career-year for myself and this race team. We have a long way to go.”

Brent Marks will continue his 2018 campaign with World of Outlaws starts in South Dakota and Montana on Friday and Saturday, August 24 & 25, respectively, first joining the Greatest Show On Dirt during action at the Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City, S.D., on Friday night, followed by a one-night stop at Big Sky Speedway in Billings, Mont., on Saturday. Marks will enter the weekend ninth in the current World of Outlaws championship standings.
