PERRIS, CA (April 3, 2017) – After seven consecutive events in California, all contested between Friday, March 17, and Saturday, April 1, World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series Rookie of the Year contender Brent Marks will begin to trek eastward, following the Greatest Show On Dirt to areas of Arizona for an upcoming doubleheader in the Grand Canyon State.

Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19, will visit the Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Arizona, on Friday, April 7, to help launch the next phase of his first-ever World of Outlaws campaign, followed by a stop at the Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona, on Saturday, April 8. The Cocopah/Arizona Speedway weekend will give Marks his only taste of Arizona in 2017.

“We had a lot of fun in California, but I think we are all ready to move on down the road and visit some new areas,” Brent Marks explained. “We had some solid runs during the California swing. We’ve shown consistency, and we’ve shown that we can be competitive, we just need to gain more experience and find a good baseline for these tracks we’ve never seen before. We’re hoping to return next year and give ourselves a better opportunity and be better prepared.”

Brent Marks ended his California swing with three starts in four days between March 29 and April 1, earning an average feature finish of 13th in the running order. The “Myerstown Missile” finished 13th at the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, California, on Wednesday, March 29; 12th at the Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, California, on Friday, March 31; and 14th at the Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, California, on Saturday, April 1.

As an added bonus to his performances, Marks earned all three main event starting positions by qualifying through his respective heat races, also flirting with top-ten finishes during the entire stretch, racing as high as ninth at Keller Auto Speedway.

Brent Marks is currently 12th in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series championship standings, earning a pair of top-ten feature finishes thus far this season. The Myerstown, Pennsylvania, native is also second in the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year chase, trailing Sheldon Haudenschild by a mere 76 points.

“I’m excited for what we have next. We’ve been improving and that keeps us mentally strong,” Marks explained. “I can’t thank my family, supporters, and crew enough for their hard work and dedication. It’s definitely not easy being out here like this, but they’re excited to be here and that makes my job a lot easier.”
