MYERSTOWN, Pa. (April 1, 2019) – Despite ending the weekend upside-down at Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday, Brent Marks’ Friday night visit to Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif., resulted in a favorable outcome, as the third-year Outlaw finished 13th during main event competition.
Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, kicked off his evening at Keller Auto Speedway by recording the second fastest time during qualifying time trials, all before winning his respective heat race.
Lining up fourth on the feature grid as the result of his dash finish, Marks battled near the top of the field for as long as he could, eventually fading to just outside of the top-ten.
“We put together a pretty solid night in Hanford, but I still think we have some work to do. Starting that high, it’s tough to be content with not earning a top-five nor a top-ten,” Brent Marks explained, a three-time World of Outlaws winner in 2019. “We’ll keep working for ways to get better. That’s all we can do.”
After nearly a month of competition in California, some of which cancelled due to Mother Nature, Brent Marks and the rest of the World Outlaws Sprint Car Series will travel east into Arizona and enter back-to-back nights of competition on Friday and Saturday, April 5 & 6. The ‘Myerstown Missile’ will visit USA Raceway near Tuscon on Friday, followed by a stop at Arizona Speedway near Queen Creek on Saturday. Marks finished tenth during a stop at Arizona Speedway in 2018.
