Brent Marks Will Hunt for 2016 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek Title
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MYERSTOWN, Pa. (June 21, 2016) – Brent Marks will attempt to tame the Keystone State beginning Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway, set to follow the entire Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule in 2016, all while hunting for a first ever title. Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing, M&M Painting & Construction, BAPS Auto Paint & Supply, Creekside Auto Sales, Fredericksburg Eagle Hotel, Russell Heller Builders, KC Automotive, No. 19M, will embark on a nine race campaign through much of Pennsylvania and northern Maryland during his speedweek travels, all of which over the course of ten days. The 2016 Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek champion will be awarded $5,000.
“I think we’re ready to go. It should be an awesome week,” said Brent Marks regarding Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek. “We have a lot to prepare for, but at least we’ll have the luxury of working out of our own shop most of the time. It’s going to be demanding, but we’re excited about it. Our goal is to be consistent every night and keep ourselves in the hunt for a title.”
Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek will commence on Friday evening, June 24, at Williams Grove Speedway, followed by visits to Lincoln Speedway (6/25), Path Valley Speedway (6/26), Grandview Speedway (6/28), Hagerstown Speedway, MD (6/29), Port Royal Speedway (6/30, 7/2), Williams Grove Speedway (7/1), and Selinsgrove Speedway (7/3). Each program will award a minimum of $5,000 to the main event winner.
“We’ve been fortunate enough to show a lot of speed at most of the tracks we visit during speedweek, so that keeps us pretty motivated,” explained Brent Marks. “I just can’t thank my team and supporters enough for allowing this all to happen. We have a lot to take on during the next two weeks, but I’m not concerned. We’ve proved that we have a winning combination. We’ll work to continue that this weekend.”
The “Myerstown Missile” will technically launch his upcoming weekend on Thursday night, June 23, at Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven, Pennsylvania. Thursday Night Thunder, featuring the 410 sprint cars, will give fans and race teams a small taste of Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek competition before it actually begins. Brent Marks will enter Susquehanna’s gates with a recent top-five finish to his credit, finishing fourth at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, June 18.
