PENNDEL, Pa. (March 11, 2019) – Although delayed multiple weekends due to Mother Nature’s inability to cooperate, Brett Michalski and Brett Michalski Motorsports officially kicked off their 2019 sprint car season by joining Pennsylvania’s finest at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway on Sunday, March 10.
Although faced with challenging track conditions, the Sunday afternoon Icebreaker turned into a success story for Brett Michalski, as the Penndel-based racer used perseverance to advance from the inside of row eight to finish tenth; a perfect momentum boost leading into his first Central Pennsylvania double of the season.
Michalski, the 2018 Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ Rookie of the Year who will visit the facility regularly in 2019, ignited his afternoon with a bump from sixth to finish fifth during his respective heat race.
“It was a great start to our season. Anytime you can pull your stuff right out of the box and earn a top-ten creates a good feeling, especially on a tricky track like we had on Sunday,” Brett Michalski explained, backed by JR Michalski Heating & Air Conditioning/Irish Rover Station House/York by Johnson Controls/Wood Services. “We had some things go our way which pushed our luck a little further, but we’ll take this and move forward. We have a busy weekend ahead, so I’m excited to get back at it.”
A slight schedule update from his initial release, Brett Michalski and Brett Michalski Motorsports will now enter action on Saturday, as well as Sunday, during the upcoming weekend, first returning to the Pigeon Hills on Saturday, March 16, with the intent to better his Icebreaker performance, all before visiting Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday, March 17, for its season opener.
“I just want to thank the entire Lincoln Speedway staff for getting the show in,” Brett Michalski continued. “I’m sure everyone was champing at the bit just as much as we were.”
