GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (May 9, 2022) – Five-time Knoxville Raceway track champion, Brian Brown was forced to battle the best in the business on Saturday night at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, facing-off against a stout contingent of local, regional, and national talent that included All Star and World of Outlaws competitors. Gathered for a Knoxville Raceway weekly program (taking advantage of great weather conditions after much of the Mid-Atlantic was stopped by Mother Nature) the field reached 43 competitors, all aiming to score valuable lap time before the upcoming World of Outlaws invasion in mid-June, as well as the coveted Knoxville Nationals in August.
Although Brown and Brian Brown Racing were unable to top the field, their performance was impressive, scoring another top-ten at the Sprint Car Capital of the World in the form of a sixth-place outcome after starting two positions back. “Blackjack” kicked-off the program with the fastest qualifying time in his respective group, as well as the fastest time overall. The Grain Valley, Missouri, native is now second in the Knoxville Raceway championship standings, trailing Justin Henderson by less than 40 markers.
“Overall, it was a great night for our team. I think I made a few mistakes that ultimately kept us from having a better night, but we’ll take this sixth-place run and move on.”
