Brian Brown to commence Knoxville Nationals stretch with 360 qualifying Friday

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (July 29, 2025) – In all, it was another great effort at Knoxville Raceway for “Blackjack” Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing, completing their July 26 attempt with a podium result – their season’s 11th top-five and 18th top-ten overall. Brown, who finished second at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, did his best to outduel eventual winner Rico Abreu, kicking off preliminary competition with his group’s second-fastest qualifying effort followed by a two bump charge to fourth in his respective heat race.

Brown’s results will prove vital, hoping to utilize his ever-growing notebook to secure another 360 Knoxville Nationals championship. The $20,000-to-win headliner will blast off Thursday with Brown’s qualifying attempt scheduled for Friday.

Blackjack, who set “Quick Time” in his 360 on Saturday, is a two-time 360 Knoxville Nationals champion with titles accomplished in 2014 and 2023.

“Another solid night overall for our Casey’s | FVP team. Despite qualifying last in the order with the 410, we still managed to time second in the group before racing from sixth to fourth in our heat. Lined up third in the main and got to second pretty quick. Started to chase down [Rico Abreu] and actually got to the lead, but didn’t take advantage of how good our car really was and I didn’t put myself in a good spot. It doesn’t matter how good your car is or how good your engine is, the driver has to do his part,” Brown said. “You have to be mentally prepared to put yourself in good positions on the track and I was unable to do that. That is 100% on me. Once Rico got back by, we kinda paced him there and caught him at the end.

“With our 360 engine, our goal was to go in there and qualify it…it was brand new so we wanted to go over everything and make sure everything was secure. Ended up setting quick time, so we accomplished what we set out to do. Loaded it up after that.

“I like where we’re at right now as a team,” Brown continued. “I feel like we’re doing things really well, especially in the A-Mains. We have a car that’s been better than what we’ve had in a little while. The sky’s the limit right now. With Chad, JB and Devin, we can accomplish anything. With a little bit of luck, and the car we’ve been having, I’m confident we can accomplish all of our goals over the next two weeks. Looking forward to the challenge beginning Sunday with the Capitani Classic.

“A lot of great local talent mixed in with a lot of heavy hitters…it’s not going to be easy, but it shouldn’t be. If we do our job, I like our chances.”
