Brock Zearfoss Back in the Top-Five at the “Speed Palace”

JONESTOWN, PA (July 11, 2016) – Brock Zearfoss continued his impressive 2016 Port Royal Speedway campaign on Saturday evening, July 9, by earning his ninth top-ten finish of the season. The “Jonestown Jet” finished fifth at the “Speed Palace” during his most recent start, climbing ahead from the outside of row five, matching lap times as those leading the main event. Zearfoss, who now sits fourth in the track championship standings, will return to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday evening, July 16, for another round of weekly competition.
“We were really good on Saturday,” explained Zearfoss. “Our starting position hurt us a little bit, but we built a solid pace during the entire race and ran similar lap times as the leaders. We were able to show speed the entire race and not lose track of anyone racing ahead of us. I think we found a few things that we needed to change and they worked out for the better. We’ll keep going back to our notes and work to improve again this weekend.”
Before making the trip to Port Royal, Pennsylvania, Zearfoss will join the “Pennsylvania Posse” at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series tune-up. The tune-up program will allow Central Pennsylvania teams to participate in an entire World of Outlaws-style format to better prepare for the upcoming Summer Nationals invasion on Friday and Saturday, July 22-23.
Also on the upcoming agenda is a trip to Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday, July 17. The York Haven, Pennsylvania, oval will showcase the last round of the Lincoln/Trail-Way/Susquehanna shootout featuring the 410 sprint cars.
