Brock Zearfoss Earns Two Top-Tens in Three Starts, Summer Nationals Next!
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, PA. (July 18, 2016) – After a demanding weekend in Central Pennsylvania, entering three events in three days at three different facilities, Brock Zearfoss returned home to Jonestown, Pennsylvania, with two top-ten finishes, one of which inside the top-five.
Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, No. 3Z, finished fourth at the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” in Port Royal on Saturday night, July 16, followed by an eighth place finish at Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven on Sunday evening, July 17. The “Jonestown Jet” now has a total of ten top-ten finishes at Port Royal Speedway in 2016 and currently finds himself fourth in the championship hunt, trailing point leader Doug Esh by 255 markers.
Just missing a top-ten weekend sweep, Zearfoss launched his recent three-race campaign with a 12th place finish at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, July 15, the site of his first ever 410 sprint car victory earlier this season.
“Feels good to earn consecutive top-ten finishes like that, especially at Susquehanna where we lack a lot of experience,” Zearfoss explained. “We’ve been building a lot of consistency. We’ll need that if we want to make a run at the track championship.”
Brock Zearfoss will now turn his attention back to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, where the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will invade for two days on Friday and Saturday, July 22-23. The Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals will be the high point of the Central Pennsylvania weekend, awarding $8,000 on Friday and $20,000 on Saturday. Adding more flavor to the mix, a $5,000 bonus on behalf of the Morgan Cup will be awarded to the Saturday night feature winner.
Zearfoss qualified for each of the Summer Nationals programs in 2015, finishing 22nd and 23rd during World of Outlaws feature action after finishing first and fifth during his respective heat races to automatically qualify. There were 39 cars entered.
“This is a big weekend. We’re fortunate enough to be a part of it,” Zearfoss said. “We’ve been pretty good at Williams Grove Speedway this season. We want to make that continue this Friday and Saturday. I can’t thank my team enough for their help and support. Although most of our shows are close in distance, Central Pennsylvania can be really demanding. We’ll try to use our experience and recent momentum boost to our advantage this weekend. We want to steal the show.”
