Brock Zearfoss ends season with competitive weekend in Charlotte
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, PA (October 31, 2016) – Brock Zearfoss concluded his 2016 season with a three-day visit to The Dirt Track at Charlotte near Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 27-29; competing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the season-ending World of Outlaws World Finals.
The trip proved to be a positive learning experience for the pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, Masters Mechanical Insulation, Comprehensive Test and Balance, Berkebile Oil Company, No. 3Z entry, logging laps against some of the most competitive sprint car teams in the country. When the weekend dust settled, Zearfoss found himself just two positions shy of a main event start on two consecutive nights. Although disappointed, the trip was beneficial.
“We had a fast car all weekend. It handled well during both programs, but we just started too far back in our heat races. By the time we found some rhythm, it was too late and we were still two spots shy” Zearfoss explained. “We learned some things that we can use next year. I can’t thank my team for their hard work during the whole weekend in Charlotte. Despite finishing outside of where we wanted, we enjoyed ourselves and we are already looking forward to next year.”
The “Jonestown Jet” will spend the next several weeks preparing and rebuilding for the 2017 season. Although one more event still remains in Central Pennsylvania, Zearfoss will bypass any plans to attend action on November 5 and begin preparing for next season.
“We have a long list of things we need to accomplish during the next several weeks,” Brock Zearfoss explained. “We’ll take advantage of the off season and get things set for hopefully an even bigger season in 2017. I have a long list of dedicated sponsors and supporters that made 2016 possible. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their help. I’m excited to continue those relationships next year.”
The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native conducted a career year in 2016; earning two main event victories, each occurring at different facilities, while also capping off a track championship chase second in the final standings. Zearfoss earned victories at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway; each career firsts.
