Jonestown, PA (January 4th, 2015) – After spending nearly a week in Tulsa, Oklahoma competing in the nationally recognized Tulsa Shootout, Brock Zearfoss will once again return home to central Pennsylvania as an A-main qualifier in each of his entered divisions. Zearfoss, a Jonestown, Pennsylvania native and full-time ‘410’ sprint car competitor on the ‘Pennsylvania Posse’ circuit, entered two divisions at the 2015 Tulsa Shootout, A Class Winged and Outlaw Winged, and qualified for each A-main. Nearly 300 competitors were entered for action in each of the micro/mini sprint classes at the Tulsa Expo Raceway inside of the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is the second consecutive year that Zearfoss was able to earn A-main starting positions in both of the classes he entered.
“What a week” said Zearfoss regarding the Tulsa Shootout, “It is a one-of-a-kind deal…drivers from all over the country and from all levels of short track racing enter this event…to be a part of it is really special…I had a lot of help this year and without them, the trip wouldn’t be possible…I can’t thank Adam, Scotty and Kaitlyn enough for their help and support…and especially Susquehanna Valley Speedshop…hopefully we can go back next year and inch a little closer towards that win!”
Brock Zearfoss, who’s Tulsa Shootout rides were made possible by Susquehanna Valley Speedshop, was able to qualify for the A Class Winged and Outlaw Winged A-main through a series of heat races and feature qualifiers. Positive results during preliminary competition in each division allowed the Jonestown, Pennsylvania native to earn a starting position in each A-main. Zearfoss kicked off the final evening of Tulsa Shootout competition by finishing 8th in the A Class Winged main event. Unfortunately, a top-ten appearance would not be repeated during the 55-lap Outlaw Winged A-main, as Zearfoss would find himself caught up in an on-track incident. Zearfoss was forced to retire from the event, and was scored 22nd.
“We had an awesome run during the A Class Winged main…hats off to the entire team” said Zearfoss, “Unfortunately, we were in the wrong place at the wrong time during the Outlaw feature…someone broke in front of us, and we had nowhere to go…caused contact and broke something in the steering…regardless, it was a great week and I can’t wait for next year…we’ll go home and start to prepare for the Port Royal Speedway (PA) opener in March.”
News and information regarding Brock Zearfoss’ 2015 schedule will be released in the near future. Stay tuned.
