Brock Zearfoss Finishes Second in Port Royal Speedway Championship
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, PA (September 12, 2016) – For the first time in his young career, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss finishes a track championship points battle on the podium; finishing second, officially, in the Port Royal Speedway 410 Sprint Car title chase.
Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, Masters Mechanical Insulation, Comprehensive Test and Balance, Berkebile Oil Company, No. 3z, clinched his spot on the Port Royal Speedway track championship podium by securing two feature starts during Tuscarora 50 weekend, one of which resulting in a seventh place finish against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during Night Before The Tuscarora 50 competition on Friday night, September 9. There were 41 drivers entered for the $5,000-to-win showcase.
“Friday night was a great night for us. Worked toward a top-ten finish even after a mix-up with the running order during a restart,” Brock Zearfoss said. “With the All Stars there, you have to expect a competitive lineup of cars and a competitive heat race. We raced through our heat which set ourselves up for a dash spot, and ultimately a front row starting spot. Unfortunately, we used ourselves up too early and dropped some positions. Regardless, I’m proud of my team. We never got distracted and we kept our focus on the prize. This time, the prize was to claim second in the Port Royal Speedway championship. I’m excited to accomplish that. That pretty much outweighs any negative results we had during the weekend.”
With near-championship momentum at his advantage, Brock Zearfoss will move forward and begin preparations for back-to-back events in Central Pennsylvania this Friday and Saturday, including the Jim Nace Memorial/34th Annual National Open at Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday, September 17. The Jonestown native will activate his weekend officially with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg on Friday night, September 16. Williams Grove Speedway’s Friday night event will feature a regular program for the 410 sprint cars; Saturday’s visit to Selinsgrove Speedway carries an $8,000 potential.
Zearfoss will enter the weekend with two victories on the season, one of which at the world-famous Williams Grove Speedway.
“I’ve said it a thousand times, but I can’t thank my team, family, and all of my sponsors enough for their dedication and support,” Zearfoss said. “This has been a career year for us. We’ve accomplished so much and that is exciting. I’m excited to move forward and see what we can do.”
