Brock Zearfoss Gets Number Two, Winner at Port Royal Speedway!
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
JONESTOWN, PA (August 22, 2015) – For the second time in 2016 and for the second time in his career, Brock Zearfoss is a winner during 410 sprint car competition. The “Jonestown Jet” earned his second-ever victory on Saturday evening, August 20, at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, nearly dominating the main event before crossing under the flagstand two seconds ahead of the competition.
Zearfoss has been a regular competitor at the “Speed Palace” in 2016 and entered the August 20 program fourth in the championship chase. The victory, coming from the outside of row three, propelled Zearfoss to third in the title hunt, 230 points behind point leader Doug Esh. With major events still left on the agenda at Port Royal Speedway, including the Labor Day Classic and Tuscarora 50 weekend, Zearfoss hopes to use his victory as a major momentum boost and snag one of the many major prizes up for grabs later in the season.
“Man, this feels awesome,” Zearfoss explained. “We were basically flawless on Saturday. We’ve been working to reach this point since we started racing 410 sprint cars. Our first victory at Williams Grove Speedway lifted a lot of weight off of our shoulders, but still, you grow anxious to earn the next one. To stand on that victory lane stage at Port Royal Speedway is pretty cool. We don’t want that to be our only appearance.”
Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, Masters Mechanical Insulation, Comprehensive Test and Balance, Berkebile Oil Company, No. 3Z entry, made one other 410 sprint car start during the recent weekend, finishing 14th against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native earned his place in the $5,000-to-win main event by finishing fifth during his respective heat race; he started 17th on the feature grid.
Up next on the Brock Zearfoss Racing agenda is a trio of Central Pennsylvania programs on Friday through Sunday, August 26-28. The “3Z” machine will visit Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Path Valley Speedway Park, all in that particular order.
“I can’t thank everyone enough for their help and support. The list is long, but they know who they are,” Zearfoss said. “My family, my crew, my sponsors; they all play a huge role in this race team. We have nights that don’t go so well, but we hang tough and work through it. That’s what makes this team so special; we keep plugging away and never give up. Good things happen when you keep working hard and that is what we want to continue doing. We have a long weekend coming up, as well as a busy rest of the year. We’re excited to see what we can do.”
