JONESTOWN, Pa. (July 14, 2020) – Brock Zearfoss’ return to All Star Circuit of Champions competition was short lived, but action-packed, entering three straight nights of Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition which included a stop at Portsmouth Raceway Park on Friday, July 10, before visiting Sharon Speedway for an highly-anticipated doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday, July 11-12.

Although forced to swallow a pair of sour outcomes during action at Sharon, ending the two-day visit with 14th and 16th-place finishes, respectively, the ‘Jonestown Jet’ put together an impressive display during his visit to Portsmouth and finished third during the evening’s $15,554-to-win Dean Knittel Memorial main event. Zearfoss kicked-off the program with a heat race victory, eventually finishing second in the second of two dashes.

Despite being scored 14th during Sharon Speedway’s Lou Blaney Memorial on Friday, July 11, Zearfoss started from the pole position and battled for a podium spot during the first 25 circuits. Mechanical issues led to an eventual ‘DNF’ for Zearfoss, as a suspension component broke in the front-end causing the familiar ‘3Z’ to tumble in turn two. Zearfoss walked away unharmed.

“We had a solid night at Portsmouth, but we wanted that to transfer into our two days at Sharon. We were good enough to win, but we’ll learn from this and move on,” Brock Zearfoss said, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc./C&D Rigging Inc./BAPS Auto Paints & Supply/Meckley’s Limestone Products/Berkebile Oil Company/Klick Lewis Cars/Bruce’s Speed Shop/No. 3Z sprint car. “I can’t say enough about my team. Tye and Shane continue to show how dedicated they are to this race team and I couldn’t be more proud. We have one more night in Ohio before returning to Pennsylvania for a few races close to home. Our goal is to take advantage of the situation and grab a win in front of our home fans.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2020 campaign later this evening – Tuesday, July 14 – with the annual Brad Doty Classic featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at Attica Raceway Park. Zearfoss is the defending Brad Doty Classic champion, earning the $10,000 payday under All Star Circuit of Champions sanction over Labor Day weekend.

Zearfoss’ week will continue with three consecutive All Star events beginning with the Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, July 17, followed by the two-day Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, July 18-19.
