GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (May 30, 2024) – Despite Mother Nature washing away one of three events on their Memorial Day Weekend schedule, “Blackjack” Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing put together a competitive effort in Pennsylvania Posse Country, not only joining Pennsylvania’s finest for the $10,039-to-win John Trone Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, but eventually headlining their weekend agenda with Port Royal’s coveted Bob Weikert Memorial on Sunday, May 26.

Two starts resulted in two main event appearances for the Higginsville, Missouri, native, one of which concluding within the top-ten in the aforementioned John Trone Tribute. Blackjack raced on to finish 17th in the $75,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial – a field that included 50+ Posse reps and High Limit Racing “High Rollers.”

Brown’s Bob Weikert Memorial preliminary effort included the third-fastest qualifying time, followed by a one position charge in his respective heat race. Preliminary results put Brown seventh in the overall event points.

“It was great to get back to Pennsylvania and visit two iconic tracks. It’s a trip we always look forward to,” Brown, driver of the Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 sprint car, expressed. “Just a spectacular event on Sunday at Port Royal Speedway. Massive crowd with a huge purse on the line. It’s not just a race…it’s an event, for sure.

“Our night started really well with setting the third-fastest time and a bump from sixth to fifth in the heat. That put us seventh overall in the points. Unfortunately, my wheel spinning ability isn’t the best and I ended up drawing the ten overall. I didn’t give the best feedback during the main’s open red and instead of getting better, our car actually got worse. But you’ll have nights like that. We had great speed at times but just didn’t have it when it counted.

“Hats off to my team for their hard work. Their attitudes are great and we’re looking forward to getting back to Knoxville on Friday and Saturday.”

With their first Central Pennsylvania swing of the season officially in the books, Brown and Brian Brown Racing will head back to the Midwest, set to invade the Sprint Car Capital of the World for a two-day showcase alongside the USAC National Sprint Cars.
