GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (September 11, 2023) – Although Mother Nature was successful in ruining most of Port Royal Speedway’s annual Tuscarora 50, competitors did see action on Friday, September 8, participating in the weekend’s traditional The Night Before The 50 awarding $10,000-to-win. Brian Brown, ace of his own Casey’s, FVP, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Impact Signs Awnings and Wraps, Mt. Dew Overdrive, HAWK Hunting, Ditzfeld Transfer, No. 21 sprint car, did his best to represent his Missouri fanbase proudly, eventually concluding the All Star Circuit of Champions-sanctioned preliminary program with a 17th-place score.

A recent podium finisher in Port Royal’s annual Labor Day Classic, Brown commenced his eventual forward charge from 21st on the grid, starting from row 11 as the result of a B-Main victory. The Grain Valley, Missouri, native was forced to start the evening’s consolation after missing a transfer position during his respective heat race. Penalized for jumping the initial start, Brown was sent back a row and it was all uphill from there.

Saturday’s Tuscarora 50 finale made it through qualifying before the rain came; Brown qualified fifth overall.

Thursday’s Tuscarora 50 preliminary program was completely washed out.

“Mother Nature did not play nice this weekend, but we were able to get some things going on Friday. Getting penalized in the heat race set us back, so to get through the ‘B’ and recover to finish 17th feels good. We came out fast again on Saturday before the rains came, so I’m anxious to compete in the Tuscarora 50 when they reschedule it,” Brown stated. “Hats off to this Casey’s/FVP team. A few curve balls were thrown our way this weekend, but we did the best we could to recover. I’m excited for the Jim Nace Memorial this weekend for $26,000.”

ON DECK:
Brian Brown and Brian Brown Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another round of action in Pennsylvania Posse Country, this time visiting Williams Grove Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway [Jim Nace Memorial | $26,000-to-win] on Friday and Saturday, September 15-16. In addition, Brown may return to Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday, September 17, with potential plans to enter 360 sprint car competition.
