NEW CASTLE, IN (July 6, 2017) – After a washout at Kokomo (IN) Speedway on Friday, June 30, thirty-seven sprint cars made the tow across Ohio to compete with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Wayne (OH) County Speedway on Saturday night, July 1. Caleb Armstrong finished third in his heat race, lining him up 14th on the main event starting grid. From there, the New Castle, Indiana, native methodically worked his forward through the field to a solid sixth place finish; his 11th top-ten finish of the 2017 season.
The Series returns to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, on Saturday, July 8, for the Lou Blaney Memorial. Heading into the event, Armstrong sits third in Series points. During Ohio Sprint Speedweek’s visit to Sharon, Armstrong showed speed in the feature but fell a lap down to NASCAR phenom Kyle Larson and elected to not race the leader back. “We just needed to get going earlier,” Armstrong said of his last visit to Sharon.
Armstrong was quick to thank his current partners: Baker Crop Insurance, Neal Metal Recycling, All-Star Performance, Armstrong Farms, Specialty Fuels & Logistics, Beast Enterprise, Simpson Racing Products, Wilwood Brakes, Wings Unlimited, PAC Racing Springs, Penske Shocks, and Schoenfeld Headers. Armstrong appreciatively echoed that he would not be able to stay on the All Star tour without these great partners.
