CASHING IN THEIR CHIPS: Aaron Reutzel and RSR close out 2025 High Limit season second in owner championship
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
KNOXVILLE, Iowa (October 20, 2025) – It was a season to remember for “A-Aron” Aaron Reutzel and Brian and Lisa Ridge’s Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR), and despite all of the ups and downs including a midyear driver substitution as the result of Reutzel’s foot injury, the team persevered, capping off their 2025 High Limit Racing campaign with a runner-up finish in the Owner Championship, falling by mere-45 markers to Rico Abreu’s Rico Abreu Racing.
Reutzel, a former multi-time All Star Circuit of Champions champion who calls Clute, Texas, home, concluded the High Limit Racing season with three starts in four days, finishing no worse than eighth in his tour of the Central Time Zone, all of which culminating with back-to-back top-tens (sixth and eighth) in Texas Motor Speedway’s High Limit Racing season finale on October 17-18.
Reutzel’s season highlight reel is extensive, but perhaps his most rewarding achievement, literally, was Port Royal Speedway’s Bob Weikert Memorial worth $100,000. “A-Aron” is certainly no stranger to high stakes at the Port Royal, Pennsylvania, half-mile, winning the speedway’s coveted Tuscarora 50, as well, a feat accomplished in 2019.
As noted, RSR was forced to take on a mid-season driver substitution as the result of Reutzel’s foot injury sustained in Eldora Speedway’s Kings Royal week. Justin Sanders, a native of California, filled the void for Brian and Lisa Ridge, winning two rounds of action including a Gold Cup Race of Champions preliminary at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California.
“It was a season to remember, nonetheless, and Lisa and I couldn’t be more proud,” Brian Ridge, owner of the Power Plus, Folkens Brothers Trucking, Don Long & STC, B And L Holdings, American Table, Commercial Edge, Rasmusson Service Center, The P.O. Box, Bargain Barn, No. 87 sprint car, said. “This entire team worked to the edge and back, and although our goal was to win a team title, to finish second is pretty special, especially considering the hoops we had to jump through. Congratulations to Rico Abreu and his entire team. They were almost perfect from start to finish, so hats off to them. As far as RSR, we’re excited for what the future brings. Only great things are ahead.
“To our friends, family, and team partners, we thank you,” Ridge added. “It takes an army to keep a team competitive, and fortunately for us, we’re surrounded by great people.”
