Chase Dietz Drives Godfrey No. 5 to Top-Ten at Williams Grove Speedway

YORK, PA. (August 8, 2016) – Chase Dietz made his first 410 sprint car start of the 2016 season for car owner Troy Godfrey on Friday night, August 5, scoring a top-ten performance at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Dietz, the 2015 Williams Grove Speedway 358 sprint car track champion for car owner Troy Godfrey, charged forward from the seventh row to put his Godfrey Racing Engines/DTS/No. 5 inside the top-ten, finishing eighth officially at the world-famous paperclip. It was the first top-ten of the season for the Dietz/Godfrey duo.
In routine fashion, Chase Dietz will step away from the racing scene during the upcoming weekend, saving his equipment for larger events that will arrive during the later portions of the season.
“We showed a lot of speed all night. That’s motivating for us as a team,” Dietz said, the 2015 National 410 Rookie of the Year. “I’m glad that we could finally get this deal rolling. Troy Godfrey always gives me great opportunities and I’m more than thankful for those. We always seem to click really well together. We’ll take a week off again to kinda gather our thoughts and figure out an approach for the rest of the season. We have some bigger races lined up toward the end of the year. We hope to attend all of them.”
Chase Dietz owns one victory in 2016 during 410 sprint car competition. The York, Pennsylvania, native earned his trip to victory lane during action at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway while aboard his family-owned No. 2D.
“I think we still have a few wins left in us this year,” Dietz explained. “We’ll do whatever we can to make that happen.”
